Samsung is said to be gearing up for an Unpacked event in early January, where the company is expected to unveil the Galaxy S21 series. A new report now claims that Samsung will also unveil a new pair of Galaxy Buds, which could feature better Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and an in-ear design.
SamMobile reports the new headphones will feature the same in-ear design introduced with the Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Buds+. The headphones are said to include improvements to sound quality and offer a better Ambient mode. Ambient mode allows external sound to enter through the headphones, making users more aware of their surroundings.
To go along with the in-ear design, the new Galaxy Buds will apparently feature ANC. SamMobile suspects that due to the in-ear design, the ANC performance should be better than the recent Galaxy Buds Live, which featured a bean-like design. An in-ear design effectively seals the ear canal, essentially blocking out noise. Hence, the possibility for an improved ANC experience.
Earlier this month, a new trademark filing in the U.S. was discovered for Galaxy Buds Beyond. While the trademark itself was light on details, they could potentially be the name of Samsung’s new headphones. The name would certainly be fitting; in-ear headphones with improved audio technology and ANC could be considered “beyond” anything Samsung has done.
The market for truly wireless earbuds has exploded, and with so much competition out there, including from Apple, Samsung seemingly wants to continue to flood the market with new and improved options.
If rumors hold true, Samsung could introduce the new headphones at its Unpacked event in early January. The same event will also see Samsung introduce the Galaxy S21 series, which will allegedly offer support for the S Pen for the very first time.
